Ardleigh Sailing Club New Members Day 2018 & Family and Social Sailing both run from 10:30am to 4:00pm
New Members Day
If you are not a member but are interested in finding more about what the club has to offer, then please do come along to have a look, chat to members and if you fancy, have a trial sail. If you are a member but don't often sail, this is a great time to socialise and sail in the company of others.
If you are a member who sails regularly, the committee asks that you consider bringing a friend or relative to have a go and/or make yourself available to take others on the water.
The club boats will be available for members to use.
There will be a one-off joining discount for new members.
Hot and cold refreshments will be on offer throughout the day.
Famly and Social Sailing
Being the first Sunday of May, its also Family and Social Sailing!
This is a family-friendly event that take place on the first Sunday of the month from May to October. See the Club Calendar for full details.
The atmosphere is relaxed enough for you to do what you want providing you stay in sight of the rescue boat if you want to be eligible for rescue. These sessions are great for informal coaching be it parents teaching their kids or adults crewing and helming on each others' boats. Boat swaps have also been known!
The Safety boat is out, various club boats are available for use and hopefully a few of the 'older hands' are available to help you with any nautical conundrums!!
The safety boat helm normally organises an easy course for beginners to negotiate.
Many families arrive in time to picnic and chat as well as getting on the water for some fun.
Please, please consider volunteering for a safety boat helm, crew, shore or galley shift as without these roles we cannot run the day! Follow the duty man link to volunteer:

Let's hope for fair winds, a little sunshine and a good turn out for New Members Day and Family and Social Sailing!
